Terms of Service

General provisions

These terms govern the use of the Qubit service (“Service”) — the iOS and Android apps and qubit.qcomply.tech — provided by QComply AG, Zurich, Switzerland. By using the Service you accept these terms.

The service

Qubit is a messenger that encrypts text, voice messages, photos and videos on your device with a symmetric key the people in a conversation exchange in person. It supports one-to-one conversations and groups of up to 20 people. The Service relays encrypted data only and has no access to its content.

Your account

An account is required. Your sign-in nickname is generated for you; you can add a sign-in name of your own and a recovery email address. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Conversation keys are stored only on your devices — if you lose them, we cannot recreate them.

End User Licence Agreement (EULA) and rules of use

By using the Service you enter into this End User Licence Agreement (EULA) and agree to use the Service lawfully and in line with these rules.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. You may not send content that is offensive, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, illegal or otherwise objectionable. Users who break these rules may be removed from the Service immediately and without notice, and their content deleted.

Reporting and blocking

In every conversation and group you can report a message or a user that breaks these rules, and block an abusive user. You can also delete your own messages. We review reports and act on them — removing the content and the offending account — within 48 hours of receipt.

Subscriptions

Qubit Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal and cancellation follow the store’s terms and are managed in your store account settings. Deleting the app or your Qubit account does not cancel a subscription.

Limits

A text message can be up to 1,000 characters, a voice message up to 2 minutes and a video up to 5 minutes. Messages are deleted from the server 90 days after delivery unless both sides choose to keep history. The Service does not support files other than photos and videos, or message reactions.

Changes and termination

We may change these terms with reasonable notice. You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or end the Service for good cause, including a breach of the rules above.
